Founder of Black elk tattoo, Erich Daoust is a tattoo artist known for his wide range of styles.

As a formally trained tattoo artist, his skills range from a variety of different techniques. Beginning his professional tattoo career in 2003 he quickly developed a range of tattooing including traditional Americana, fine line lettering, and bold color work. Along with a variety of linear and realistic black and gray applications. With years of experience and hard work, Erich found a unique way to bring his clienteles ideas into reality.

Drawing and creating art at a very early age, Erich always wanted to make art as a living somehow. After a number of small jobs and selling art on the side, he was offered a formal tattoo apprenticeship in 2001 and started his career shortly afterward. While tattooing, Erich was also illustrating record covers for different bands in the Pacific Northwest, alongside other projects that strengthen his skills as a visual artist and showcased his range.

Working alongside some of the world’s best tattooers for nearly 20 years, Erich has acquired a unique skill set in tattooing that isn’t available anywhere else but black elk tattoo. All designs are custom-made for the individual, where that input and thought of the client is taken seriously and design is represented properly.
